The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU) are stepping up the efforts to support accession of Ukraine to the European Union through the Ukraine Recovery and Reform Architecture (URA)* programme. Recovery and Reform Support Team for Legal Approximation of Ukrainian Legislation to the EU acquis Approximation (RST) is established to address the critical needs of the Ukrainian Parliament in the area of EU acquis transposition and provide support to accelerate critical
EU integration reforms.
The RST is an advisory body to the Apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada and providing analytical and legal support to the adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation to EU norms and assisting with closing the existing capacity gaps in the area of EU acquis transposition. It will provide support to parliamentary committees and their sub-committees, including the Parliament’s Committee on EU integration and subcommittees on adaptation of the national legislation to EU acquis, parliamentary committee secretariats, the leadership
and Members of the Parliament.
The RST will be integrated into existing coordination mechanisms between the Parliament and the Government while maintaining close collaboration and coordination with other teams of the Ukraine Recovery and Reform Architecture. The competition is now open for the position of Senior Legal Expert on Social Policy and Employment. The
interested professionals are encouraged to apply. The position is based on-site in Kyiv. This is not a remote work opportunity.
The initial consultancy assignment is expected to start in March 2024 and has an estimated duration for 4 months. The assignment may be extended, subject to the availability of donor funding and the consultant’s performance.
