Small-Scale Privatization Generated 1 Billion UAH for Ukraine

06.05.2019

Sales of small-scale privatization facilities through electronic auctions via ProZorro procurement system have already brought over 1 billion UAH of income to the country over nine months since official launch of the system, said Oleksandr Saienko, the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

During this period, 808 auctions were held, through which 552 state-owned facilities, put up for auctions by the State Property Fund of Ukraine and local governments, were successfully sold.

In particular, revenues from the sale of real estate made up UAH 826 million, revenues from the sale of property complexes – UAH 103 million, corporate rights – UAH 101 million, transport equipment – UAH 29.5 million, industrial equipment - UAH 10 million.

"We have the following achievements of small-scale privatization: the most expensive successful lot sold – UAH 57 million for a stake in the Orion Ternopil Radio Plant; the most expensive lot – UAH 50 million for premises in Lviv on the Market Square with a total area of 481 square meters; the largest increase in the price is 80,000% for administrative building with a total area of 65 square meters in Khmelnytskiy Oblast", the Minister stated.

At the same time, he reminded that large-scale privatization is still being blocked by the court.

"It demonstrates that transparent process initiated by the Government, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the State Property Fund of Ukraine together with our international partners apparently suits not everyone. It is an unprecedented case when the Government and the State Property Fund of Ukraine are deprived of the opportunity to search for and attract investments in the public sector as a result of the court decision," Oleksandr Saienko emphasized.
