Online public service delivery allows citizens not to meet with bureaucrats at all, – Oleksandr Saienko

In the opinion of Oleksandr Saienko, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, public administration reform and e-governance as its integral part make it possible for citizens not to meet with bureaucrats and government officials during public service delivery.

“I am deeply convinced that most people would rather not meet with a bureaucrat. Therefore, we enable an environment where a government official is not depended on entirely, and where public services are delivered online,” Mr. Saienko said during the Freedom of Speech talk show on ICTV channel according to the Government portal.

He has also stressed out that more than 120 public services are now available online.

“When our team took office, there was just one service available online. Today there are more than 120 services available online, and citizens can use their smart phones and find everything they need on the Government portal.

He also added that half a million people have already received a land registry extract online while 69,000 people have obtained childcare benefits, and that the additional 50 online services are planned to be launched in 2019.

He also noted that the Government’s Affordable Medicines Program has already helped patients with diseases listed under the Program receive medicines worth a total of UAH 1.8 billion under 35 million prescriptions.

“We have provided an opportunity to people to come to pharmacies and get the medicines they need, including under the recently introduced e-prescriptions,” summed up the minister.
